The visit by His Holiness Pope Francis to Ireland, on the occasion of the World Meeting of Families later this month, is good news for Irish tourism.  It presents a unique opportunity to showcase Ireland abroad and to convince potential holidaymakers everywhere to visit Ireland. Ministers Launch the Strategy for the future development of National and Regional Greenways

Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross TD and Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Brendan Griffin TD, today launched the “Strategy for the future development of National and Regional Greenways” on the Old Rail Trail in Moate, County Westmeath.

The Strategy sets out how National and Regional Greenways in Ireland should be planned and constructed and is backed by a fund of €53m for the years 2019 to 2021.
