The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) has statutory responsibility for safety regulation of the civil aviation industry in Ireland. The IAA was established under the Irish Aviation Authority Act, 1993 and under the Act the Authority also has responsibility for advising the Minister for Transport and the Government in relation to aviation safety.
The provision of air navigation services in Irish controlled airspace is the responsibility of the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), a commercial State body established under the Irish Aviation Authority Act, 1993. The IAA also advises the Minister for Transport and the Government in relation to air navigation and airspace management policy.
As air transport globally has grown significantly in the last few decades, there has been an increased focus on the environmental impacts of air travel particularly noise and air quality.
The role of Aviation Services Division is to ensure the aviation services sector supports Ireland’s economic and social goals in a safe, competitive, cost-effective and sustainable manner, and to ensure maximum air connectivity for Ireland with the rest of the world.
