Statement by Ministers Varadkar & Bruton on IASS Expert Panel Report

Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport Leo Varadkar and Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation Richard Bruton have welcomed the report of the Expert Panel on the Irish Airlines Superannuation Scheme (IASS) published today.

Ministers Varadkar & Bruton today thanked the Panel members: Brendan McGinty, Peter McLoone, Laura Gallagher and Eugene McMahon, for the huge amount of work conducted over the last three months.

The Expert Panel established in March to investigate how to resolve the industrial relations issues relating to the Irish Airlines Superannuation Scheme (IASS) have this morning presented their final report to Ibec, ICTU, the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.  The Report, along with a Statement from the Expert Panel, is available at

Varadkar welcomes Labour Court recommendation on Aer Lingus

Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport Leo Varadkar has welcomed the Interim Recommendation issued by the Labour Court today in the dispute between IMPACT and Aer Lingus on rostering arrangements for cabin crew.

The Interim Recommendation sets out specific recommendations to deal with the issues at the centre of the dispute, and a general recommendation designed to improve industrial relations within Aer Lingus.

Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport Leo Varadkar has published a draft National Aviation Policy and launched a consultation process on the document, which aims to develop new routes and services into Ireland and build on the success of the last two years.
