Public Transport Division

The role of Public Transport Division is;

To ensure that CIÉ and its operating companies, Iarnród Éireann, Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann achieve optimum service delivery and value for the public and conform to the highest standards of corporate governance.

Ensure that regular structured engagement takes place at an appropriate level with the National Transport Authority (NTA), Transport Infrastructure Ireland  (TII) and Commission For Railway Regulation (CRR), as a means of reviewing performance and ensuring that the Department's objectives are being met.

Ensure appropriate funding, payment and monitoring of the administrative costs of the NTA, TII and CRR.

Manage the Corporate Governance oversight for C.I.E., NTA, TII and CRR, with particular emphasis on financial controls, financial statements and accounting procedures.

Manage the public transport subvention envelope in conjunction with the National Transport Authority.

Monitor CIÉ's financial position in light of Strategic Plans and within its budgeted PSO subvention envelope.

Oversee implementation of PSO Bus Market Reform.
