Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Leo Varadkar, and Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Michael Ring, have congratulated Leinster on their magnificent victory in the Heineken Cup in Cardiff.
Minister Varadkar, who attended the match in a private capacity, said: ‘This was a real example of sporting courage. Leinster lived up to their reputation by turning the game around in the most difficult circumstances. When it looked like all was lost, this Leinster team came back blazing and have secured a place in the history books. It was a privilege to witness this achievement at first hand. 'The match really inspired me. Like Leinster, Ireland has had a real bad first half. But we're at the beginning of the second half now and we can still come out of this crisis as winners. Congratulations to Leo Cullen and all the players’.
Minister Ring said: ‘I would like to pay tribute to this great team for giving us a great game. It was a performance that every Irish man and woman can be proud of. It’s not often that you see any team turning the tide like this. This has crowned a great week for Ireland’.
