New noise regulator will hear the voices of residents, says Minister Ross.

Shane Ross, TD Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport welcomed the enactment of the Aircraft Noise (Dublin Airport) Regulation Act 2019 which was signed into law by President Higgins this week.

Following publication of the Act, Minister Ross said, “a vital piece of law has finally been passed. The concerns of residents and local businesses have been heeded.”

Minister Ross announces increase in Mountain Rescue grants in 2019

The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross TD, has today (23/05/19) announced details of increased funding for Mountain Rescue teams in 2019.  There are ten mountain rescue teams, all constituent members of Mountain Rescue Ireland (MRI). The Search and Rescue Dogs Association is also a member of MRI while the Irish Cave and Rescue Organisation works closely with the MRI.

The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Mr. Shane Ross, TD, and the Minister with responsibility for Sport, Mr. Brendan Griffin, TD, today offered their condolences to the family of former Dublin GAA star Anton O’Toole, who passed away this morning.

O’Toole, 68, was one of the best known players on the famous Dublin team managed by Kevin Heffernan in the 1970s and early 1980s. His playing career finished with four All-Ireland senior football medals as he helped bring the Sam Maguire Cup back to the capital in 1974, 1976, 1977 and 1983.
