Interacting with Wider Research and Analysis

SRAD (formerly EFEU) plays a role in promoting best practice research in the field of transport analysis and creating a link between the department and wider research in Ireland, Europe and internationally.

SRAD staff attend and participate in seminars and conferences in related policy areas, ensuring that the department is up to date with the latest research in transport, tourism and sport and creates a link between the policy and research communities.

SRAD also plays an active role in the Central Statistic Office’s (CSO) Transport Statistic Liaison Group. The Transport Statistics Liaison Group was established in March 2010 with the broad aim of improving communications between key stakeholders, both users and data respondents. The group plays an important role in helping to set national priorities for transport statistics.

As a constituent unit of the Irish Government Economic and Evaluation Service (IGEES), SRAD also participates in cross-departmental policy events and work.
