Consultation on the Independent Review of Airport Charges Regulation in Ireland
The National Aviation Policy (NAP), which was published in August 2015, commits to an independent review of airport charges regulation. Indecon Economic Consultants, who were engaged by the Department to undertake this work, completed its review of airport charges regulation in Ireland in December 2015.
In light of the publication of this report, and to frame the future policy and implementation of airport charges in Ireland, the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport is running a consultation, for stakeholders in Ireland, over the coming weeks. It is proposed, following the consultation process, to prepare a policy statement on airport charges for submission to Government before the end of 2016.
The report, along with an accompanying consultation document, which should be read together, can be found below. Submissions are invited in relation to the issues identified in the consultation document or any other issues which are relevant to the review. All submissions should be received at the latest by 17.00 on Friday, 16th September 2016. Submissions should be sent directly to the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, via email to BronaghTreacy@dttas.ie
Please note that, in line with established practice for public consultation and subject to considerations of confidentiality, submissions will be published on the Department’s website and are subject to Freedom of Information legislation.
